Tested Recipe Adapted from Hoe Yee’s Hawker Secret Recipes 4

Salted Mustard & Bitter Melon Soup


500g pig’s bone (cut into pieces)

200g chicken feet

350g bitter melon (cut into pieces)

300g salted mustard (sliced)

3 tomatoes (wedges)

2.5 litres water


1 tsp salt

1 tsp chicken stock powder

Preparation Instructions:

  1. Rinse pig’s bone, blanch in boiling water. Dish out and drain.
  2. In a soup pot, add the pig’s bone, chicken feet and the remaining ingredients, then add the water, bring to boil over high heat. Cover, reduce to low heat, cook for 2 hours, add in seasoning, mix well. Serve hot.
