Appetising Chayote

Tested Recipe with Slight Adjustment Adapted from K.S.Lee

Appetising Chayote


1 x 550g chayote (peeled, deseeded and cut into slices)

165g minced pork belly

50g dried shrimps (rinsed and chopped)

1 red chilli (chopped)

1 tbsp chopped garlic

4 tbsp cooking oil


1 tbsp sugar

½ tsp salt


½ tsp salt

1 tbsp sugar

Preparation Instructions:

  1. Combine chayote with marinade, and set aside for 15 minutes.
  2. Rinse marinated chayote slices and squeeze dry.
  3. Heat up 4 tbsp of cooking oil and stir-fry minced pork belly, chopped dried shrimps, chopped red chilli and chopped garlic until fragrant.
  4. Add in seasonings and stir-fry until the meat is cooked.
  5. Stir in chayote slices and stir-fry briefly.
  6. Dish out and serve with white rice.
