Tested Recipe with Slight Adjustment Adapted from Hoe Yee’s Hawker Secret Recipes 4

Prawn Cake

Ingredients A:

220g shelled prawns (chopped)

100g minced pork belly

1 tbsp chopped garlic

1 tbsp chopped spring onion

1 egg white

1 tbsp cornstarch

2 tbsp water

Ingredients B:

1 cup white breadcrumbs

Seasoning:

¼ tsp salt

1 tsp sugar

½ tsp ground white pepper

½ tsp sesame oil

Garnishing:

Some lettuce leaves and cherry tomatoes

Preparation Instructions:

  1. Combine minced prawn with pork, seasoning and the remaining ingredients, mix and stir until sticky.
  2. Divide mixture into 9 equal portions, shape into round, and lightly flatten, then coat with breadcrumb.
  3. Heat up oil, put in prawn cakes, deep-fry over medium heat until golden in colour. Dish out, drain and serve hot with lettuce leaves and cherry tomatoes.
