Tested Recipe with Slight Adjustment Adapted from K.S.Lee’s Authentic Homestyle Cuisines
350g spare ribs
280g bitter gourd (deseeded and cut into thick sections)
1 small can pickled lettuce (drained)
1 carrot (cut into flower design)
½ tsp salt
½ tbsp sugar
1 tsp sesame oil
½ tbsp corn flour
1 tbsp water
- Place spare ribs into cold water, boil over low heat for 10 minutes. Remove and rinse.
- Place all ingredients into a steaming plate and steamed at preheated steamer until the spare ribs are cooked.
- Pour the steamed sauce into wok and thicken the gravy with starch solution. Pour the sauce back to the steaming plate and mix to combine.
