Kimchi Pancake


2 cups homemade kimchi (chopped)

1 onion (peeled and sliced)

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 tsp fine salt

1 tsp caster sugar

½ cup water

6 tbsp cooking oil (divided)


Chopped spring onion

Toasted white & black sesame seeds

Preparation Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, add in chopped kimchi, sliced onion, all-purpose flour, fine salt, caster sugar and water. Stir to combine.
  2. Heat up an 8-inch non-stick skillet, add in 1 tbsp of cooking oil on low heat, add in ½ cup kimchi pancake batter, using a spoon to spread it thinly and evenly.
  3. Pan-fried until lightly golden and crispy on both sides. Remove and repeat the same process for the remaining ingredients.
  4. Transfer onto a serving platter, garnish with some chopped spring onion and toasted white and black sesame seeds. Serve.
