Hokkien Meat Balls

Tested Recipe with Slight Adjustment Adapted from Andrew Kow’s A Taste of Home

Hokkien Meat Balls

Ingredients A:

300g minced pork

150g mackerel meat

10 water chestnuts

1 carrot

3 tbsp chopped spring onion

1 onion

150g prawn meat

150g squid

Ingredients B:

200g cream crackers crumbs

150g all-purpose flour

1 ½ tsp baking powder

¼ tsp salt

Seasonings:

½ tsp salt

1 tsp ground white pepper

2 egg whites

1 tsp sesame oil

1 tsp five spice powder

3 tbsp tapioca flour

1 tsp chicken seasoning powder

½ tsp sugar

Preparation Instructions:

  1. Blend minced pork, mackerel meat, prawn meat and squid in blender. Chop water chestnut, carrot and onion. Mix ingredients B evenly.
  2. Mix ingredients A and seasonings evenly, form meat balls and coat with ingredients B.
  3. Heat up oil in pot, fry the meat balls until golden brown. Serve.
