Wheat Porridge with Coconut Milk (Gandum)

Tested Recipe with Slight Adjustment Adapted from Plilip Yoong’s Pasar Malam Delights

Ingredients:

150g wheat berries

3 pieces pandan leaf

1500ml water

100ml coconut milk

25g gula Melaka

75g sugar

1 ½ tbsp all-purpose flour mixed with 2 ½ tbsp water for thickening

Preparation Instructions:

  1. Put wheat berries, pandan leaf and water into a pot and bring to boil at high heat.
  2. Lower the heat and simmer until the wheat berries are very tender.
  3. Add in sugar, coconut milk and cook until the sugar has dissolved.
  4. Thicken with all-purpose flour solution.
  5. Dish and serve.
