Beef & Kimchi Fried Rice



100g beef tenderloin (cut into strips)

2 ½ cups cooked rice (separate the grains by hand)

1 cup homemade kimchi (chopped)

1 stalk spring onion (chopped) (divided)

1 tbsp chopped garlic

1 red chilli (seeded and shredded)

2 tbsp cooking oil


1 tsp light soy sauce

1 tsp Chinese cooking wine

1 tsp extra virgin sesame oil

1/8 tsp ground white pepper

1 tsp corn starch


1 tbsp gochujang

1 tbsp light soy sauce

1 tsp extra virgin sesame oil


Some toasted white & black sesame seeds

Preparation Instructions:

  1. Marinate the beef strips with marinade ingredients. Set aside.
  2. Heat up a non-stick skillet with 2 tbsp of cooking oil. Saute the chopped garlic until fragrant.
  3. Add in marinated beef strips, saute until no longer pink.
  4. Add in chopped kimchi, saute until fragrant.
  5. Add in seasonings and cooked rice. Constantly stirring until well combined.
  6. Add in shredded red chilli and ¾ potion of the chopped spring onion. Toss well.
  7. Dish out to individual serving bowl, garnish with chopped spring onion, toasted black & white sesame seeds. Serve.
