Ingredients:
1 cup all-purpose flour + more for dusting
½ cup water
1 tbsp extra virgin coconut oil
¼ tsp salt
¼ tsp five spice powder
3 tbsp toasted white sesame seeds
½ cup chopped scallion
Adequate cooking oil for pan-frying
Preparation Instructions:
- Add 1 cup of all-purpose flour into a mixing bowl and set aside.
- Use a sauce pan to heat up the water to 70C. Gradually pour the water into the all-purpose flour and use a pair of chopstick to stir to combine. Knead into a dough. Cover and set aside for 15 minutes.
- Use pestle and mortar to coarsely ground the toasted white sesame seeds.
- Transfer the dough onto a lightly flour surface. Roll into a 9 ½ x 9 ½-inch sheet.
- Brush the extra virgin coconut oil on top. Sprinkle with salt, follow by five spice powder, coarsely ground toasted white sesame seeds and chopped scallion.
- Roll it up tightly and divide into 6 equal portions. Press to seal both sides of the openings. Use palm to press into a disc, sprinkle with some all-purpose flour. Roll it into a thin circle.
- Heat up a non-stick skillet with adequate cooking oil for pan-frying. Pan-fry the crepes on medium high heat until crispy and golden brown.
- Remove and drained on paper towel to absorb excessive oil.
